Linda Robertson makes a resounding (and seriously enjoyable) case for traditional music in this collection of 16 songs. Five songs, including “Hallelujah I Can Walk” and “Peek-A-Boo” are originals (by Robertson and others, and except for “Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed” and “Old Joe Clarke”, most of the songs are not that well known, a pleasing result of Robertson’s judicious selection process. The tunes are understandably simple, beginning with ”Fanga Alafia”, a West African welcome song. Other international selections are “El Coqui”, from Puerto Rico, and “Savez-Vous Planter Les Choux”, based on a French song. Robertson is joined by a host of colleagues playing an array of folksy instruments, from guitar and mandolin to accordion, kazoo, and dulcimer. A wonderful, enjoyable introduction to the varied richness of folk music and an exemplar of persisting and thriving traditions. -- Paul Shackman

Linda Robertson has created a beautifully executed recording for young children and their families using bath traditional and original songs to balance the playlist. Loveingly crafted, Linda's warm vocals are complimented by arrangements that dont overwhelm the material or listener. Song from other culture are included here as well, and her song choice pays tribute to the rich repertoire of African American music that deeply informs all American music . Highlights include Fanga Alafia/Lil Liza Jane, My Favorite Truck, Hallelujah I Can Walk and Back and Forth. -- Susan Salidor, Childrens Music Singer and Songwriter

Reviews...CD, Concerts, and Workshops
My kids and I absolutely LOVE this CD. We've played it over and over since recieving it. Favorites are 'Peek-a Boo', 'Wake Up Toes' and 'Deep Blue Sea'. Thank you for putting out such a great CD. -- Jennifer in Boyton Beach, FL (Judge of The Children's Music Web Awards)
The Folk and Roots Festival in Chicago was more than I expected. More voices, more faces, more fun, more dancing, more hope. Linda Robertson’s performance in the Children’s Tent was the highlight. Linda’s energy, musicianship, movement and joy was contagious. Linda performed her new CD, Come and Go with Me, in it’s entirety and it was a gift for all ages. Anyone who has not heard it needs to and anyone who has not purchased it, must. Spreading her joy will become a new joy. -- Cheryl, aunt of many
On Saturday afternoon, June 14, I attended the Chicago Folk and Roots Festival at Welles Park and had the pleasure of experiencing the Linda Robertson Band, live, in concert in the Children’s Tent. Linda and the band put on a great show. They sang all the tunes from Linda’s new Come and Go with Me CD with spirit and presence, engaging the crowd from the stage. Most fascinating for me was watching the kids clap, sing, jump around, and dance to the music. This was their concert and their music--and they loved it! -- Steve, Milwaukee
My son listens to your CD all the time. As soon as we get in the car he says, “Hear Miss Linda.” -- mother of 2 year old
We so enjoyed the (CD Release) concert, and were singing songs along with the CD all the way home! I don’t know if we have any true favorites as we love them all. It was so nice to have all the other musicians with you as that was a great learning experience for the kids too. mother of children ages 8, 4 and 2
What a great time we had! You were fantastic! and we love the CD! What a beautiful day to go to the city. -- mother of one year old boy
My son’s teachers loved the CD and they play it all the time for the kids in the class. They are practicing the “little Fish” song so they can sing it on Mother’s Day. The teachers liked the CD so well they showed it to the principal of the school. -- mother of a preschooler
Dear Ms. Robertson, We like your songs. We sing and dance to them. We like 5 Little Monkeys best. We hope you make more songs. (Our teachers’ favorite song is Mary Wore Her Red Dress!) -- kindergarten class
Fun album! You really have a lovely voice! Come and Go with Me is a real pro CD! I really like your use of percussion on the album, it makes your recording stand out from the typical children’s CD. I also like your use of several languages! -- Mr. Singer
Just wanted you to know we are loving your CD. What I love the most is that I can actually “hear” you smiling as you are singing, which makes it feel like you are right there and the vocals are truly beautiful. --mother and children ages 9, 6 and 3
I just had to send you a quick note to tell you how much our girls LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your CD. The first song we played for them was “Hallelujah I Can Walk” because GRace (age 10 months) is trying her best to do just that. Maeve (age 7) kept saying, “Gracie, this is for you!” And Grace cried whenever the song would end (yes, we’ve listened to this dozens of times). Elena (almost 4) thinks the part where you sing “Lay. lay, lay” is just for her, because her nickname is “Lay-Lay”. This is a great gift to all of us.
How fun it is to motivate and build self-esteem through music. Linda did a great job and it was an exciting workshop. The handouts provided so many songs to take back and use with my children. -- attendees at Using Music to Develop Relationships with Children
The workshop was excellent; I loved everything that was taught. I learned so much more about how to sing with children, and that they can learn through music they really like. -- attendees at Let’s make Music workshop
I loved the session, and was eager to keep going. We learned alot about how singing improves behavior, helps calm a child, and helps get their attention. We learned how to use familiar songs more effectively and new ways to implement songs. -- attendees at Transition Songs workshop
